AS SEEN IN..
Hi! I'm Ellie, and I'm here to help.
My first foray into finance started innocently enough in college where I studied finance for the ultimate goal of becoming an entrepreneur. I knew most businesses failed because a lack of knowledge about money and I didn’t want to become another victim of startup failure. So, when I graduated, I took my knowledge a step further and went to work at J.P. Morgan. During my time there, I acted as a human sponge learning everything I possibly could about investments. Then, my innocent relationship with money quickly blossomed to love.
It isn’t all roses, my love affair with money abruptly ended when I didn’t quite have as much as I used to. Doesn’t that figure? I didn’t just want to know investments. I wanted to learn personal finance as a whole. So, when I moved to Washington, DC and started working for a holistic financial app, I learned a fundamental lesson; regardless of income, if you don't understand how money works, you will never get ahead.
So, when I first started my company and was around other entrepreneurs, they always asked me about how I was able to keep my head out of the water financially when they were all drowning. I started consulting my friends and colleagues in the startup world about money. Thus, Money Therapy began. Now, I have a unique appreciation for all my experiences. From my formal training at J.P. Morgan to my startup training selling to Fortune 500 companies, and now my training with my company.
I know it's hard to get a straight answer when it comes to your money so, I'm here to help.
Check out the blog! We provide actionable steps with key insights to understand this messy world of money.

optimizing your income
We hate budgeting. Instead, we focus on percentages based on your income. How much are you spending compared to your overall income? How much are you putting away? If this isn't in alignment, you cannot save. We focus on getting debt down before we focus on retirement.

We know that as a business owner your personal income affects your business income. A lack of understanding in your personal finances can impact your business. You could be leaving deals, money, and savings on the table if you don't have a great grasp of your personal finance.
